You Are Invited!

Art Uptown Gallery at 1367 Main St. in Sarasota will host a Public Dialogue Sunday, October 3 at 1:00 pm with paintings by Marlane Wurzberg of historic buildings including The Oaks, Ca’ d’Zan, Dr. Joseph Halton’s house, and many others some destroyed and others still standing. The program will include local historian and author Frank Cassell.

In conjunction with Sarasota County’s Centennial celebration, Marlane Wurzbach’s bold and colorful acrylic cityscapes and landscapes will be shown at Art Uptown Gallery this October in an exhibit entitled “Building Sarasota’s Stories.” Ms. Wurzbach’s appreciation of Sarasota’s history grows as she works to preserve some of our local architectural treasures on canvas. The exhibit runs through Friday, Oct. 29. There will be a public reception on First Friday, Oct. 1 from 6-9 PM.

Dr. Cassell is the author of Suncoast Empire – Bertha Honoré Palmer, Her Family, and the Rise of Sarasota and Creating Sarasota County. Dr. Cassell is also the Chairman of Sarasota County’s Centennial Steering Committee.

Art Uptown Gallery welcomes patrons and friends to its 1367 Main Street gallery, where the diverse art works of 29 local artists are exhibited.
