Historic Central Cocoanut Walking Tour

November 15, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

$20.00

Join the Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation on Sunday, November 15th for an exclusive small-group, masked walking tour of one of the City of Sarasota’s most architecturally and culturally diverse neighborhoods.

Your tour guide will share fascinating glimpses into the history of the neighborhood, the lives of those who shaped it, and point out significant architectural elements that define each style over the passage of time.

The Central Cocoanut National Historic District features homes from just about every decade, from the late teens through mid century. As a community with the kind of rich heritage that can only be created slowly over time, architectural styles range from Frame Vernacular, Bungalow, Mission, Colonial Revival, and Mediterranean Revival, to Masonry Vernacular and Ranch.

Select from multiple tour times throughout the day, bring your reusable water bottle and hat, and enjoy some socially-distant learning!
